-
Q.Why do you recommend that some larger sized products be made as 2 or 3 blinds on 1 headrail?

A.There are some size limitations on certain products; this may be due to weight, stress on the working parts of the product, or ease of operation. We recommend that faux wood blinds over 72” wide and wood blinds over 84” wide be split into 2 or 3 blinds on one headrail depending on the configuration of the windows or ordered as separate blinds with a common valance. If you want to have a larger blind made as a single unit, you may be able to do so but it would void the warranty.

-
Q.How do I order a blind for a large opening that contains three windows but the window sections are not the same width?

A.We recommend that you measure the overall width (smallest of the measurements at the top, middle & bottom of the window).  Then measure each window individually (middle of the mullion that separates the windows).  The 3 individual window width measurements should add back to the overall width.  Then order all 3 blinds as inside mount.  The normal factory width deductions should allow the blinds to fit inside the brackets and move freely in the window.  You can also order 1 valance to cover all 3 blinds by putting a note on each blind with the overall window width (at the top of the window).  There is a charge for common valances on some products.

-
Q.What is the “routeless” option?

A.A routeless blind does not have holes punched in the slats for the ladder cords to run through; instead the slats have small notches on the back of the slat to hold the ladder cords in place. This option provides additional light control and privacy.  The slats of a routeless blind may shift slightly when the blinds are tilted or lifted.

-
Q.Is there a minimum depth requirement to do an inside mount?

A.Yes, you will need a certain amount of depth in order to install a blind or shade within the recessed area of your window opening. This amount varies by product and you can find this information under “Specifications” on our website information for the product you want to order.

-
Q.What is the Top Down/Bottom Up option offered on some of your shades?

A.This option allows you lower your shade from the top or from the bottom so that you can cover only portions of the window with the shade fabric and still enjoy the view while maintaining privacy.

-
Q.Please explain the difference between inside and outside mount.

A.Simply stated these terms refer to whether you will be installing your window coverings inside or outside the window opening. Inside mount means the blind or shade will be installed within the recessed area of your window opening. Outside mount means the blinds or shades will be installed on the wall surface outside the window opening, or directly on the trim or molding that surrounds the perimeter of the window opening, or on a door.  The factory will take a width deduction (varies by product) when the blind/shade is ordered as inside mount.  Outside mount blinds/shades are made to actual width ordered.

-
Q.What is the Continuous Loop Lift Cord option offered on different types of shades?

A.A continuous loop lift cord option means the lift cord of the shades is a continuous loop operated by a clutch assembly to make lifting and lowering the shade smooth and easy. This option is especially recommended for larger shades.

-
Q.Some products offer a cordless option; how does this work?

A.A shade with the cordless option will not have any visible external lift cords. The shade can be raised and lowered by grasping the metal rails instead. This is a very popular option for homes with children or pets.

-
Q.Can you help me with instructions on how to measure my windows and install my blinds?

A.Yes, you will find clear, easy to follow instructions on our website for measuring and installing the product you want to order.
