Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Are all your products custom made? Where are they produced?

A. All of our products are custom made to order. Our fabricators are located in Texas, California, Florida, and Mexico.

After I place an order, when can I expect delivery? Do you ship 2-day or next day air?

A. Production times vary from 1-10 business days and a production time estimate is provided for every product. We ship via FedEx Ground, we can ship by 2nd day or next day air but we have to get a quote on every order because the size of the boxes can vary greatly. Most orders are delivered 1-2 weeks from the order date.

Q. After I place an order, when can I expect delivery? Do you ship 2-day or next day air?

A. Production times vary from 1-10 business days and a production time estimate is provided for every product. We ship via FedEx Ground with a shipping time of 1 to 5 business days. Most orders are delivered 1-2 weeks from the order date.

-
Q. Do you charge sales tax?

A. We are located in Houston, Texas, so we are required to collect 8.25% sales tax on orders shipped to Texas.

-

Q. Why do you charge a $5.95 handling fee?

A. The $5.95 handling fee per order is used to offset the cost of our order review process. In an effort to avoid mistakes a member of our staff reviews every item on your order before it goes to the factory for production. There are some common mistakes made when ordering custom blinds, for example, rounding measurements to the nearest whole number, and reversing the width and height measurements. If we notice anything unusual or need clarification, your order will be placed on hold so that we can contact you.

-
Q. Why do you charge an oversize freight fee on blinds over 94" wide?

A. Over 95% of our orders are shipped free of charge. However, horizontal blinds and shades 94” in width or greater, and vertical blinds 94” in width or height or greater, and all shutter orders are charged an oversize freight fee of $75. FedEx ground freight charges oversize freight surcharges for all oversized boxes which are actually more than the $75 we charge our customer.  This is a one-time charge per order; if your order contains multiple oversized items or shutters, you will only be charged $75.

-
Q. When will my credit card be charged?

A. Your credit card will charged when your order is placed. All of our products are custom made to order and we must receive full payment before production begins.

-
Q. Can I cancel or make changes to my order?

A. In most cases, products with 1-2 day production times cannot be cancelled or changed after the order is placed. Products with production times of 3 or more days can be changed or cancelled if we are notified within 1 business day after the order is placed.

-
Q. Do you ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or anywhere outside the U.S.?

A. We only ship to the 48 contiguous United States.

-
Q. Will you notify me when my order ships?

A. You will receive an email when your order ships with tracking information.

-
Q. Why do you recommend that some larger sized products be made as 2 or 3 blinds on 1 headrail?

A. There are some size limitations on certain products, usually due to weight. We recommend that faux wood blinds over 72” wide and wood blinds over 84” wide be split into 2 or 3 blinds on one headrail, depending on the configuration of your windows. Wood and fauxwood blinds are heavier than most other window coverings.  By splitting the blinds you not only reduce the weight of the blind you also gain the ability to control light better.

The 2on1 or 3on1 headrail option is not available on all products and there is a fee for this option.  The option will be available when customizing the items in your cart if the product you are ordering offers the 2on1 or 3on1 option.

You can also order 2 or 3 separate blinds with a a common valance. Please contact us for information about common valances.

-
Q. How do I order a blind for a large opening that contains three windows but the window sections are not the same width?

A. We recommend that you measure the overall width (smallest of the measurements at the top, middle & bottom of the window).  Then measure each window individually (middle of the mullion that separates the windows).  The 3 individual window width measurements should add back to the overall width.  Then order all 3 blinds as inside mount.  The normal factory width deductions should allow the blinds to fit inside the brackets and move freely in the window.  You can also order 1 valance to cover all 3 blinds by putting a note on each blind with the overall window width (at the top of the window).  There is a charge for common valances on some products.
