How to Measure 2" Premium Faux Wood Blinds

Inside Mount

  • Blinds mounted inside the window frame
  • Provides a clean look
  • Ideal for windows with decorative trim
  • 3" depth required for full recess (blinds flush with the wall)
  • Minimum 1 1/8" depth required

Outside Mount

  • Blinds mounted to the wall, trim, or ceiling outside the window frame
  • Ideal for shallow depth windows and doors
  • No minimum depth requirement
  • Minimum 2 1/4" flat space required

Measuring for Inside Mount

STEP 1: Measure the width of your window opening in 3 places - top, middle and bottom. Record the most narrow of your 3 measurements to the nearest 1/8". If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8". This is the width you will order. The factory will deduct approx. 1/2" from the width you order to allow space for the mounting brackets and allow room for operation. The valance deduction is approx. 1/8".

STEP 2: Measure the height of the window opening in 3 places - left, middle and right. Record the tallest of the 3 measurements. This is the height you will order. There are no height deductions, the blind will be made to the height you order with a minimal 1/8" tolerance.

Measuring for Outside Mount

STEP 1: Measure the width of the area you want to cover from outside edge to outside edge. This is the width you should order. The blind will cut to the exact width you specify. The valance will be approx. 3/4" wider than blind to cover the mounting brackets.

STEP 2: Measure the height of the area you want to cover from outside edge to outside edge. This is the height you should order. There are no height deductions, the blind will be made to the height you order with a minimal +/- 1/8" tolerance.
