Pleated Shade Shade Liner
  • Blackout Liner - (varies by size) - Pleated shade fabrics are light filtering. Adding a blackout liner provides for maximum light blockage and privacy.
Continuous Loop Cord
  • Continuous Loop Cord - (Varies by width) - A continuous loop cord opens and closes that shade smoothly and evenly. Eliminates the traditional dangling cord, making for a neater appearance. A special clutch system keeps the shade at the desired height. Ideal option for larger shades.
Top Down Bottom Up

Measure & Install Instructions

Watch our How to Measure Video

Inside Mount

  • Mounted within the window frame
  • Provides a clean, built-in look
  • Great way to leave attractive woodwork exposed
  • Minimum depth required for secure inside mount: 1/2" for standard lift; 1" for continuous loop lift
  • Depth required for inside flush mount: 2"
  • If window frame isn't deep enough, please select outside mount

Outside Mount

  • Great option when there is not enough depth for an inside mount
  • Mounted to the wall, ceiling or molding surface surrounding the window
  • Often used to make the window appear larger or to hide a less attractive window or door
  • No minimum depth requirement
  • Minimum flat surface (on wall, ceiling or frame) required for secure outside mount: 3/4" for standard; 1/2" for continuous cord loop. Be sure to take into account the flat mounting surface area when measuring the area you want to cover with your shade. The factory will make the fabric width of your shade to the width ordered. The headrail width will be 1/4" wider than the width ordered. The factory will make the height of your shade to the height ordered (including the headrail at the top of your shade).

Measuring for Inside Mount

STEP 1: Measure the inside width of your window at three separate locations: the top, middle, and bottom. Then, make a note of the smallest of the three measurements that's the width you'll use when placing an order at Blindster. Our manufacturing process will then make the necessary deductions, which are 3/8” to a 1/2".

STEP 2: Measure the height at 3 locations - the left side, middle and right side. Record the largest of the 3 measurements. This is your ordering height.

Measuring for Outside Mount

STEP 1: Measure the entire width of the area you want to cover with your blinds. If you have extra space, allow an extra 1-1 1/2" per side to increase light blockage and privacy when the blinds are installed. The full width of your window plus the added measurements will be the final measurement you use when ordering the blinds from Blindster.

STEP 2: Measure the height of the area you wish to cover. This is your ordering height. Be sure to take into account the flat mounting surface (listed above) needed when measuring the area you want to cover with your shade. The factory will make the height of your shade to the height ordered. Generally 3" - 4" added to the height of your opening (including molding or framework you wish to cover) will allow you room to mount above the window frame.
