Mount type determines how you will install the blind. Choose inside mount if your blind will be mounted inside the window opening/frame. Choose outside mount if your blind will be mounted outside the window opening to trim, a wall, or a door.

Mount

Inside mount blinds are installed inside the window opening. Enter the exact size of the window opening NOT the size of the blind. The factory will make a small deduction from your width to allow space for the hardware operation.

Inside Mount

Outside mount blinds are installed outside the window opening to trim, a wall, or a door. Enter the exact size of the blind you want to order.  The factory will make no deductions.

Outside Mount

The headrail holds all of the blind's components together, including the mechanisms that allow the blind to function. It is often covered by a valance.

Standard

Let's make sure you have what you need!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ol><li>A&nbsp;metal tape measure&nbsp;</li><li>Pen and paper&nbsp;to record all measurements&nbsp;</li><li>Check if you have&nbsp;sufficient depth:&nbsp;Measure inside the window opening from the front to the back of the opening where the blind would mount.&nbsp;The depth must be at least 1 1/8”.&nbsp;To have a flush mount (fully recessed) the depth must be at least 3”.&nbsp;This blind must be mounted so that there is at least ¼" between the back of the blind and the windowpanes. If your depth is not sufficient please see our&nbsp;outside mount&nbsp;instructions&nbsp;</li></ol>How to Measure&nbsp;<ol><li>Let's start with the&nbsp;Width:&nbsp;<ul><li>Inside of the window opening/frame measure from left to right at the top of the opening, the middle of the opening, and then the bottom of the opening. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the narrowest. If rounding is necessary, round down to the nearest 1/8”.&nbsp; That is your ordering width.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Now, let's do the&nbsp;Height:&nbsp;<ul><li>Inside of the window opening/frame measure from the top of the opening to the bottom of the opening/sill on the left-hand side, the middle, and on the right-hand side. Write down all 3 measurements and circle the tallest.&nbsp;That is your ordering height.</li></ul></li></ol>Note: The factory will make the necessary deduction of approximately ½" to your&nbsp;Width&nbsp;to account for movement in the window opening and to ensure that the valance will fit.  How to Measure: Inside Mount 

Before you start measuring, decide whether you will mount&nbsp;on the window trim&nbsp;or&nbsp;above the window trim. Perhaps you are measuring for a&nbsp;door mount? We have instructions for that too! Please note that you must have 2 ¼" of flat space to mount the bracket on the trim. If you do not have sufficient space, you will need to mount to the&nbsp;side of your trim&nbsp;or&nbsp;above your trim.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Let's make sure you have what you need!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ol><li>A&nbsp;metal tape measure&nbsp;</li><li>Pen and paper&nbsp;to record all measurements&nbsp;</li></ol>

<ul><li>Width:&nbsp;<ul><li>At the top of your window on the outside of the trim, measure from left to right.&nbsp; We advise that you take this measurement and make it 1/4” smaller so that the brackets can mount right on the trim.&nbsp;That is your ordering width.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Height:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the top of your trim to the bottom of your trim or your windowsill.&nbsp;That is your ordering height.&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul>

On The Trim

<ul><li>Width:&nbsp;<ul><li>Looking above your window trim, decide what area you would like to cover. Measure from left to right of that area and&nbsp;that is your ordering width.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Height:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the top (where you will mount the blind on the wall) to the bottom of your trim or windowsill.&nbsp;That is your ordering height.&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul>Note:&nbsp;We carry complimentary spacer blocks. These go behind the bracket so that you can push it past the window frame and as a result, prevent the blind from hitting the frame. Spacer blocks will give you an extra 3/8” of depth.&nbsp;

Above The Trim

<ul><li>Width:&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the left of your trim piece that goes around the glass to the right of the trim piece.&nbsp;That is your ordering width, however, if you have space it is best to order the blind 1”-2" wider.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Height:&nbsp;<ul><li>Measure from the top of your trim piece around the glass to the bottom of the trim piece at the bottom of the door. Take this measurement and add 3”-4".&nbsp;That is your ordering height. *Please keep in mind that the height of this product is made in 6” increments. Depending on the height you need, adding 3-4" may not be necessary.</li></ul></li></ul>Note:&nbsp;We carry complimentary hold-downs. For a successful door mount, you need to install these. They secure the blind at the bottom of the door so that it does not move when the door opens and closes.&nbsp;
