How to Measure for Aluminum Mini Blinds

  • Inside mount

    Sits inside the window frame for a clean, built-in look. Your frame needs enough depth.

  • Outside mount

    Mounts on the wall or trim above the window. Good for shallow frames and blocks more light.

Before you measure

  • Use a metal tape measure

    Cloth and plastic tapes stretch, so the numbers can be off.

  • Measure to the nearest 1/8"

    Write down the exact number. If you have to round, round down.

  • Check the window depth

    Inside mounts need a minimum depth for the brackets. Each guide lists it.

  • Don't make deductions

    Give us the actual size of the opening. We adjust the shade so it fits and moves freely.
