Key considerations:
- Room darkening shades significantly dim the room from outside light but do not provide full blackout; some light may also be visible on the sides of the shade
- The fabric vanes on cordless shades will open to approximately a 45 degree angle; vanes on shades with other lift systems will open more horizontal
- A remote is required to operate motorized shades; when ordering a home automation hub, a remote is still recommended as a backup
